Shadow series

This series allowed me to experiment with two different mulberry oriental papers. Be Yourself Peony by Horst are both printed on Unryu Japanese "cloud dragon" paper, 37gsm. Shadow puppet & chessboard are both printed on 100% Thai Kozo paper, 35gsm. All include two hand torn deckle edges as well to highlight the beauty in the paper texture.

Architectural Linocuts

Blue Dome - Tulsa, OK

8x8 archival print; signed and dated.

Hand printed linocut with oil based ink on 60lb/100gms white paper.

First 24hr fuel station in Tulsa with hot water, pressurized air, and a car wash. It was built in 1924 and known as White Star Gulf station. The station attendant lived upstairs in the dome itself. Now this building serves as the cornerstone of so many amazing bars, restaurants, and businesses in the ‘Blue Dome’ district downtown. Let’s be real, many of us have gotten really drunk with our friends here and taken down a lot of great food. It’s symbolic.

Cain's Ballroom - Tulsa, OK

8x8 archival print; signed and dated.

Hand printed linocut with oil based ink on 60lb/100gms white paper.

Tulsa’s historic music venue built in 1924 as a garage for Tate Brady. In 1930, converted into a ballroom and called Cain’s Dance Academy. Finally in 1977, after some time dormant in the 60s, Cain’s Ballroom officially became the concert venue we love today.

Dewey Hotel - Dewey, OK

8x10 archival print; signed and dated.

Hand printed linocut with oil based ink on 60lb/100gms paper.

The Dewey Hotel was constructed and completed May 1, 1900 by Jacob H. Bartles. Rocks quarried in from the Osage Hills were used in the foundation. The beams and framing came from timber taken from the Caney River bottom. Both the rocks and lumber were hauled to the site by horse and wagon. The railroad came through Dewey in July 1899, making it possible to bring in milled lumber to finish the hotel. This era marked a new dawn for Bartlesville and Dewey when the Nellie Johnstone #1, the 1st commercial oil well in Oklahoma, was brought in by Cudahy Oil Company. The hotel supported all the cowboys, oilmen, and outlaws rushing here for the oil boom. They shared family style meals in the dining hall and spent nights up in the turret playing poker.

Tulsa Spotlight Theater - Tulsa, OK

6x9 archival print; signed and dated.

Hand printed linocut on 60lb/100gms paper.

Designed by Bruce Goff in 1928. Originally built as a home with a studio wing for a music teacher named Patti Adams Shriner. Also known as Riverside Studio because it is located on Riverside Dr. overlooking the Arkansas River.
